The quickest spaghetti recipe

Cooking is one of my great passions. I enjoy everything from putting together a list of dinners for the week, to buying fresh fruit and vegetables at the local market and preparing them all together to create some delicious meals. I'm not very adventurous and it is rare that I will put a meal idea together myself. I taught myself to cook from cook books. Ever since then I always get a recipe book for my birthday or Christmas which means that our kitchen shelf is running out of room for new books. What I often do, though, is missing out certain ingredients from the recipes which my boyfriend always laughs at me about. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This recipe is one that I adapted so that it works with minimal amount of ingredients. It is based on Jamie Oliver's Simple Spaghetti recipe from his 15 Minute Meals book. Here's my, shorter version:

Ingredients per 1 person:
90g spaghetti
1 clove of garlic
A small bunch of tender stem broccoli
Olive oil
Pinch of salt
Parmesan

Method:

  • Boil some water in a pan. Whilst it is heating up, trim the ends of the broccoli and cut it in half lengthways. You could also cut it diagonal to make it smaller.
  • Heat up some oil in the pan on medium heat. Add the broccoli and garlic.
  • Put some salt in the water and add the pasta in.
  • Once the pasta is ready, combine it with the vegetables and make sure that it is covered in the oil.
  • Serve with some parmesan.
